mother chu's taiwanese gourmet:
pork mince congee ($8.50):
Taiwanese style pork mince savoury congee.
pork ear with spicy chilli oil ($4.50):
The only ever time I eat pig's ear is when my mum buys a roast duck from those Chinese BBQ shops with duck and all types of meat hung up on the window. Those were quite thick, but these were thin and served cold. Nice contrast eating it with the congee.
taiwanese style oyster omelette ($8.80):
Taiwanese style oyster omelette with sauce. I waited so long to eat this again. Every time my mum and I are in the city, we order this and a bowl of congee. The sweet sauce on top goes really well with the gooey texture of the omelette. But if you're not a fan of oysters, please stay away.
beef stir fried noodle ($9.50):
I thought the noodles would be thicker (it looked thick in the tiny photo on the menu!) but nevertheless it was good! Beef were well seasoned and there was a nice meat to noodle ratio. Wish there were more greens though!
The paying system is a pay-after-you-order type of system! The waitress calculates for you immediately and you pay right there on the spot! 4 people were complete full for $31.30. Will definitely come back for more oyster pancakes.
